Rapids

Where is the best river rafting in Turkey?

I found some stuff online, but the companies running the tours always make their river sound like the best, of course. I'd like some personal opinions on anything from 1 to 5, good quiet canoeing to rushing rapids, anywhere in the country.

  1. I have some friends who have been to Coruh and had fabulous time. And i have been to Saklikent near Kas and made body rafting it was great:) of course you want to learn about the normal rafting so i would say Coruh. There is also Dalaman River. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Çoruh_River
  2. Agree with istanbulbogazi... Coruh river is the hardest place for rafting in Turkey. National and international rafting contest has been done in Bayburt-Yusufeli-Oltu region of the Coruh river. Its a ideal place for white water rafting. Coruh nehri is excepted as one of the best ten river all around world for rafting.
  3. I also heard Americans going to Coruh... Yet, the more experienced rafters... I know the American outdoor company REI years ago had info about rafting in Turkey on one of their brochures.
