Rapids

Is it possible to surf the San Juan Rapids on the Lower American River in Sacramento?

I was to take my body board out and play in the rapids but don't know if there is a big enough surf wave.

  1. im not sure but i wouold definetly go for it. sounds fun. and i bet there are waves big enough
  2. Just remember, rapids are due to turbulent flow caused by large rocks. You slam headfirst into one and your parents are going to hear about their dead baby boy on the news. Don't be stupid, go to the beach, and stay out of the rapids
  3. I say, go for it, it doesn't hurt to try just don't get pulled under if they are big rapids!
  4. I don't know, but I'll tell you what i DO know, 4 out of 5 dentists surveyed recommend sugarless gum for their patients who chew gum.
  5. I have only done relatively tame whitewater rafting. But I have done a bunch of canoing. I know that when the water is running over rapids, it's because of shallow rock formations that can rip the bottom out of a canoe. I can just imagine what it would do to a guy on a Boogie board. But, nobody lives forever, and if it REAL fun, right up until it gets you, who am I to discourage anyone.
