Rapids - What animals hang in the vicinity of small river rapids?

What animals hang in the vicinity of small river rapids?

I am trying to paint a picture of a river with rapids and i need to add some animals. I have a squirrel, a deer, and a bird. What kind of animal would be in the water??

and beavers and muskrats and jackrabbits. How about a bobcat? I saw one near my own small river rapid.
Trout, Salmon, Sucker Fish, Chub Fish, Brown or Grizzly Bear, Mouse (to go with Squirrel?) and maybe a Snipe if you can find one!!!

snake half in the water .chased by a crocodile ,some bats hanging from the trees ,a fish eagle scooping a fish from the river a vulture eating a the half eaten fish left behind from a bear walking away. a beaver on the oposite side dropping a tree into the water .scaring up some ducks etc,
