What are some descent cities to live in that are located between Grand Rapids MI and Kalamazoo MI?

my boyfriend lives in kalamazoo and i live in grand rapids mi. we are trying to move together but we want to find a city that we would be comfortable in that is between the two because of our jobs and school commitments. can anyone give us any suggestions?
