Rapids - Is it possible to shoot rapids in a narrowboat?

Is it possible to shoot rapids in a narrowboat?

I'm thinking of buying a canal boat (70 ft narrowboat) shipping it to the USA and cruising down the grand canyon, where I gather there are some interesting rapids. Does anyone know if this has been done before, and whether there are useful tips? this would be a) for the challenge, b) to raise a bit of cash for charity

No....it will capsize and sink! Believe some chap set off from fleetwood to the Isle of Mann in a narrow boat against numerous advice and was never seen again....

would that be before or after you try taking it over niagara falls? You would need to add some stability aids to each side, suggest 70 foot long inflatable tubes filled with helium. Good luck.
Narrowboats are notoriously unstable and for use on calm waters such as canals.Even on some strong tidal rivers in the UK the authorities insist that they "buttie" up(lash 2 together) to increase the stability. Don`t attempt it.

you will break its back if you go over any sizeable rapid. they aren,t meant to be used on fast flowing water.
just by asking such a question you would be wise to keep away from boats of any shape or form.
no harm in trying but will not guarantee the out come. would bet that you would not make it
Not a chance,,,it would flip at the first rapid,they were and still are built for 4mph cruising on almost flat water
