Which is the best water park in the Tampa/Orlando area?

We are planning a trip to Florida and want to do a water park for a day. We are looking at Adventure Island, Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. Our boys are 9 and 12 and we don't know which one would be the most fun for them. Any help with this decision will be greatly appreciated!

  1. We've been to Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach. We enjoyed Typhoon Lagoon more. There seems to be more to do for a variety of ages, & swimming with the marine life is great! We just returned from our 13th trip to WDW. We went to Aquatica too. It was really great! There's enough there to do for a day & you get a wristband for the day & eat & drink all you want or get a picnic basket of food. There's a place where you can go down a clear water slide( tube) & see whales & a tank of fish to look at while you're floating around on tubes. It was very nice there. Have fun!
  2. If they like slides and stuff I would say Blizzard Beach for sure. Don't get me wrong, I love Typhoon Lagoon - it's great, there's this shark reef where you can snorkle, they have some good slides like the Crush Gusher (It's like a water coaster, neat idea) and the Wave pool is outstanding! Blizzard Beach has some excellent slides - one of the tallest in the world I believe. There's also a chairlift and a wave pool. Either of the Disney parks are great and your boys will find something at either park. As for you, both have beachy areas and a lazy river for more relaxation, and there is food all over the place! I can't comment on Adventure Island because I've never been there.
