Can I go to a water park just after getting a foot tattoo?

I just got a small tattoo on my foot and am going to an amusement park tomorrow. I was wondering if it is safe to go to the water park.

  1. uhh, yeahh.....its perminate, so, its not ganna come off or anythin....so yea i guess its fine
  2. When I got my foot tattoo they told me that a shower was fine but to not soak it. I would advise against it. Call the place you had it done if you want to know for sure.
  3. NO! No swimming. No soaking. No direct water stream. No sun. No contaminations. You could only go if you keep it clean, dry, and in the shade all of the time. You got your tat, now take care of it. How you handle the healing makes 50% of the difference in how it will look. Your artist did his/her part, now it is your turn. Your job for the next 2 -3 wks. is to wash it with antibacterial soap, pat it dry with paper towels, put a thin layer of Lubriderm on it. Don't get it dirty, if it does, wash it and all again. Don't use anything but your fingers, no cloths. Don't pick at it or bother it when it starts to peal. After it heals, sunscreen HIGH SPF forever! Sun kills it. Time to grow up or ruin it. That's the facts.
  4. Better avoid the water park as you might get it soak in there...the final outlook of your foot tattoo will depend on how you take care of it during the healing process so if I were you, I would avoid anything that has the possibility of damaging my tat. http://www.designsoftattoos.com/
  5. you can go but stay out of the water as much as you can... not much fun but the best way to keep your tattoo from fading. here is a little lesson.... when you get a tattoo (especially if it's fresh) it will want to form a thick scab and peel off, contrary to what you may think this is not what you want to happen because the scab is made up of white blood cells and ink (that should be in your tattoo) so if the scab forms and comes off it will take ink with it leaving your tattoo a bit faded. if you go in the water too long tomorrow your scab will soak up all the water and slide right off. the best thing to do is: for the first few days, wash your tattoo with a light soap NO FRAGRANCE and apply a good hand creme wit NO FRAGRANCE AND NO PETROLEUM JELLY. after a few days just do that process only about twice a day until it heals. it will peel but will notice that it is only white blood cells and no ink.... hope i could help.. :)
  6. No your not supposed to soak it. You could get it wet. But DO NOT soak it.
  7. Avoid the water park, even if it means missing out on a bunch of fun, if you have a brand new tat, as you don't want your body art to be permanently blurred because of ink running. A new tat should stay out of the water for a week or two after it's inked on you. Some artists may advise more or less, but in my experience, generally a one to two weeks is fine. So if it's been in place with proper care for over two weeks, and is healing well, then go for it.

  9. I would definitely not go until it is healed. That water is gross!! All of the chlorine & all of the different people with who knows what, yuck! Until your tattoo is completely healed, no direct sunlight, no soaking in water, nothing dirty to touch it. It's just like any other wound, you don't want to get it infected. If you want your tattoo last & not fade, you have to take very good care of it, or in a year or 2 it will look like sh**
  10. chlorine + fresh tattoo is NOT a good idea at all. Avoid it like the plague. In fact, It might be your best bet if you go to wear socks and shoes, not flip flops, hard to tell what kind of bacteria is around the amusement park.
