What is a good place to go camping in Northern Wisconsin?

I am looking into going on a fishing trip with 5 of my friends in Northern Wisconsin, near its boarder with the upper peninsula of Michigan. We want to find a campground where our tents would not be right next to the neighboring campsite. We don't have to be stranded in the wilderness, just a camp ground that isn't packed together. Also any information about renting canoes would be helpful!! Thank you so much!!

2. Three locations come to mind. The ideal location is Sylvania Wilderness Area chain of lakes at Watersmeet, Michigan, with canoe rentals in Watersmeet. Two other locations are Chequamegon National Forest and Nicolet National Forest.
