Where can we go camping in lower michigan?
We want something very rustic, Would love to have our tent right off of a lake [look outside the tent and see water.] Somewhere with trails and be able to rent boats/canoes etc. Also something scenic. Would prefer in lower michigan but don't mind traveling to the u.p if we find a place we really want to go to. Thank you so much for your help; all answers appreciated. You're awesome :] Somewhere not overcrowded/ space between campsites.

- look no further than Paradise Lodge on Fletcher's Flood Waters.
- woodalls campground directory lists eveything there is, http://woodalls.com/
- Hiawatha National Forest Huron-Manistee National Forest Ottawa National Forest The Huron-Manistee National Forests are the only National Forests in Lower Michigan. The Huron-Manistee National Forests comprise almost a million acres of public lands extending across the northern lower peninsula of Michigan. The Huron-Manistee National Forests provide recreation opportunities for visitors, habitat for fish and wildlife, and resources for local industry.
- Not sure there is a place in Lower Pennisula such as you describe. Never been to Fletchers Pond to camp but have been there to fish. There are a lot better lakes than that in MI. Depends what you like. There is a Nat'l campground in the UP that fits your description. Corner Lake Campground on the Chain of Lakes in the Hiawatha National Forest. At least 4 to 5 sites on the water - 12 sites altogether and rarely half full with maybe the exception of the 4th of July and then there are usually 1 or 2 sites left.
