Me & my Doctor need some suggestions please help if any professionals are out there.?

I am 25 years old and suffer Sero- Negative Rheumatoid Arthritis with Chronic Pain Syndrome and Steroid induced Cataracts. However, my level of pain and many symptoms do not match traditional RA and my doctor is one wiith a special interest in Rheumatology. The follwing are regular symptoms of mine; Severe Joint Stiffness lasting from 3 hours to days on end Chronic Joint and Muscle Pain Paresthesias, Muscle Spasticity Pain around my eye's and frequent migraine type pain that is NOT photo sensitive. I get sudden deadness in my arms and they go so limp its like they have no life to them. I get mood swings from normal to ultra sad to rages very rapid and they are however, short lasting not prolonged. Sudden weight loss that is unknown the cause of. With problems keeping weight stable. I get feelings of constant hunger but also at times feel full continually and as such unable to eat. Involuntary Hand Tremours. Extreme Body Weakness especially in my legs and in my arms but to a lesser degree than my legs. Pain Experienced as said is Chronic and is of the following types, stabbings, electric, throbbing and like im being constrcited around my joints. I have been tested for the following problems and found NOT to be suffering them; Hepatitis, HIV, MS, Prostate Cancer and all are negative and these are not a problem. Please if any Doctor or Nurse is out there please help and offer suggestions as to what maybe going on with me ontop of my RA and CPS. My current Medication regime is; Omeprazole 20mg OD Diazepam 5mg OD Methotrexate 15mg weekly Folic Acid 5mg weekly Salazopyrin 1g BD Hydroxychloroquine 200mg OD Oxycodone with Naloxone 60/30mg BD Morphine Oral Solution/ Elixer as much as required daily 10-20mg/5-10ml when required. Fortisip Extra (Liquid Feed) 200ml BD Salbutamol Inhaler 100MCG 2puff upto 4 times daily Clenil Modulite CFC Free Inhaler 100MCG/actuation 2puffs BD Yes I do see specialists. The problem is many of my symptoms match many possible disease, its hard to know exactly what to refer too. My Doctor is a Rheumatologist and Pain Doctor. Thats our problem how to figure where is best to refer. He thought maybe MS so sent me to the Nuerologist for an EMG but that came back my nerves and muscles are good in the way they meant to be. My Arthritis is manic and I have asked to be referred elsewhere. My Doctor is careful for drug interactions because I have alot of allergies anyways so my drug range is very restricted for example for pain im restricted to acetminophen or opiates, neurological pain killers and nsaid and aspirin im allergic too. My Doctor has never liked the idea of me being on Morphine like drugs but after me being hospitalized time after time after time and all other drugs including buprenorphine patches failed to help me he put me on low dose Morphine caps and they caused stomach problems so the specialist put me on oxycodone and he has titrated my dose to best fit my pain. His main concern was drwosiness but that does not happen in me. All the drugs I take are safe to be wtih eachother according too all guidance. The problem with Opiates is they are useless at Muscle pain and cramps and stiffness caused by Arthritis. Diazepam is perfect for that. My pain is fairly good in terms as it could be. But other symptoms persist badily despite taking physio advice o on exercise and my occupational therapist. My Doctor has major concerns its like my body is not responding to medication as it should be. I also, only use Morphine elixeer during winters and cold months, my body goes on overload in the cold. Not good when I live in the UK. The only things that help me is the pain killers, diazepam and cannabis. nothing else helps to relieve me. But here cannabis is only lega for MS patients. He thought because my body responds to that with my symptons it was MS as well as RA but nope.

  1. YOUR Doctor needs suggestions???? My suggestion is - change doctor
  2. Are you being seen by a pain specialist as well? That is a big pile of drugs and a pain physician may be able to sort out which of your symptoms are disease-related and which are being caused by drugs and drug interactions.
  3. change your doctor asap. he /she should be able to refer you to a specialist and he/she should get you off all that medication your taking as the medication will have side effects describing what is happening to you.i get similar aches and pains and have been diagnosed as having osteoarthritis in cervical and lumber regions of the spine affecting my spinal cord and nervous system.and have now been diagnosed as having angina attacks ,all the medication you take will affect your stomach and cause all the eating problems you have ,come of them and the eating problems will clear up. but get yourself a new doctor first of all.
  4. Ask doc to refer you to a qualified Rheumatologist
