Is the Grizzly River Run ride at California Adventure okay for 8 year olds?

Is the grizzly river run rapids ride at California Adventure okay for an 8 year old? Like would it be too scary? Are there big drops or anything? She is my sister and she doesn't like any really scary rides and we are going on sunday!
