Why is there a red line running through my screen?
I have a JVC HD projection tv and there is what me and my nephew call a red river running through the screen. Doesn't matter if you are watching regular TV or a DVD, the red river is there. It runs all the way from one side to the other but is squiggly like a river. I'm not sure why it started doing this but before I spend $ on a repair man I would like to have an idea of what's wrong and how much it will cost to fix.

- are you using high quality cables? This can really effect your videoquality and can cause roaming lines.recommend spending the extra money on something like Monster cable.
- IF it's "actively dancing" around the picture, it's your Convergence amps and can be fixed for around $300 in most midwestern states. IF it's NOT MOVING, turn off your color control to display a black and white picture and see if it's Truly stationary....it may still be just the convergence amps, but it may also be burned phosphors on the Green picture tube....That might be around $500 or $600 to fix that. In that case, it's WORTH having a TV Tech take a look at it BEFORE you toss it......You wouldn't believe how many people toss their TV sets, only to have another person pick it up and get it fixed for $150 to $250.....
