Rapids - Where is the closest access to a running path by the river on the East Side of Manhattan?

Where is the closest access to a running path by the river on the East Side of Manhattan?

I am over on 30th and 2nd and wanted to run over by the river but all I see is highway for a while. I have heard of random overpasses along the highway where you can cross over, but I can't seem to figure out where they are. Any other suggestions of nice places to run? Thanks!

Along Riverside Drive..It's not only beautiful but it's not isolated..Enjoy!
There is a running/bike path along the East river from 59th Street to above 96th street which is part on the ground between the FDR and river and part promenade over the expressway. I am not sure that there is any path so far down where you are though.
There is a path at 14th St entrance to the FDR. Nothing closer to you.
I've been on the running path along the East River - it is quite beautiful and serene. There is an entrance near 22nd/23rd Street. Look for a gas station (Gulf?) and Marina and you'll know you're in the right place. There's also a nice park in that area too; certainly a nice place to relax.
