Customs question: I have a connecting flight from Grand Rapids in Chicago to South Korea?

Will i have to recheck my luggage through US customs in Chicago or will my luggage automatically be processed from Grand Rapids through Chicago and on to Seoul automatically? I know i have to go through Korean customs in Seoul but Im just confused about this whole thing.. I fly 2 different airlines: US airways to chicago and Korean air to Seoul. Will my luggage be transfered between the two airlines automatically?

1. you will probably have to re check your luggage... knowing customs and such. ask when you check in
2. There is a very good chance that you will need to collect your bags at Chicago, and check-in separately for your onward flight to Seoul. That is unless there is an affiliation between US Airways & Korean Air, which I'm not sure about!
