What are the best canoeing rivers in michigan?

We just did the grayling to lake huron run last weekend. There were too many reservuoirs in the last part of the trip. We are looking for something faster, maybe some light rapids. I am in Bay City, so we need to be about 2 hours away from there. So we can be in the water before dark.

1. huron river is one it goes all the way from proud lake to lake erie there are many more near us 23 plus in the upper lower mi you can get map from the dept.of wildlife
2. Try this website. It's been a while, but Rifle River and Pere Marquette might be worth a try. Pere Marquette was a weekend trip with overnight stay accessable by canoe. Both rivers have swifter section. Might not be considered rapids.
