Would you paddle a canoe down the river? My husband and I are considering a day of paddling a canoe down a scenic Arkansas river. The last time we did this was over 20 years ago. We both are senior citizens but can swim and enjoy the great outdoors. We both wear eyeglasses ... can't risk losing them if we tip over the canoe. Any tips or advice from others in our age group who have done something like this?
Where is a good place for a river/float/camping trip? My friends and I would like to go on a camping trip this summer. We are picturing canoeing down a river and camping in a tent on the shore in like a forest I guess. We want the river to be very easy to navigate with no danger possible. What kind of worm was it? I went canoeing in Arkansas and decided to get out along the side of the river bank to take a breather. As I sat down I noticed there was this worm looking thing about 2 or 3 inches long just a foot or two from me. It had pinkish orange skin, crawled by "scooting", kind of like how an inch worm does, and it had a circular mouth with what appeared to be 2 rows of teeth going all the way around. I poked it with a stick and it propped itself up and started hissing. It seriously looked like something out of x-files. Any ideas on what it could be?
Vacation cabin suggestions? My boyfriend and I live around St. Louis and are looking for a nice peaceful vacation place like a lodge or cabin to spend a long weekend. probably in August. What would Italian teens want to do if they came to America? I'm doing a research paper where we are to market Northwest Arkansas to teenagers in Italy. History? Wild wild west? Old west outlaws and crime fighters? Cowboys and Indians? Any information you could provide would help. I understand your teens are similar to our teens, but would they want to sit in a city their hole time here, or would they like to take a white water rafting trip or go boating or fishing or hunting or hiking? Thank you.
