Middle vs Upper Ocoee River Whitewater Rafting? Is there any major difference in whitewater rafting the upper vs the middle? I am going rafting and need to decide which one to do. I think it is easier to get reservations on the upper b/c the middles is more popular, but is there any real difference?

Can I bring my own helmet to go whitewater rafting? I'm going rafting on the Ocoee River this summer and I have a question. Can I bring my own helmet to wear down the river? The reason I ask is I have a helmet camera that I wish to use to record the trip. Bringing my own helmet would eliminate any issues with having to quickly rig a mount on the provided helmet and help avoid loss of my camera as well as damage to the provided helmet. We're going with High Country and I've sent them the same question via email, with no response as of yet. Does anyone know if this would cause a problem? If I can bring my own, would I need a certain kind of helmet or would a bike helmet be sufficient? Thanks The padding in a bike helmet is usually styrofoam, which cannot absorb water. I understand it would need to be an approved helmet, which is why I asked what kind I would need if they requested I use a certain kind

Whitewater sports help?? So, I went whitewater rafting Friday on the Ocoee and the adrenaline rush is addictive! I was just wondering some of you experienced people got started kayaking and rafting? And how do you get started without going broke? I live in southeast TN

frozen fruit bars in tennessee? About a year ago I went to whitewater raft the Ocoee River in East Tennessee. We stopped at a convenient store while there and found the most wonderful fruit bars in the world. There were flavors such as, cocount, banana, tropical, strawberry, etc. We went back to get more. I was just wondering if for chance someone is reading this from the area and knows the product I am talking about? Thanks so much.

not excatly sure what to expect tomorrow? Tomorrow my family and some family friends are all going whitewater rafting in ocoee, tennessee. Although I am very excited im not excatly sure what to expect. Has anyone ever gone before? If so was it fun? Exciting? Scary? lol thanks to all who answer

I want to learn to kayak? I have been whitewater rafting on the Ocoee several times, and I absolutely love it. I want to try out kayaking now. I have never kayaked before, only "funyaked" - it was an inflatable kayak, maybe more like a one person raft on the Hiwassee, Tn. I live in North Florida though so I don't know of any places where I could try out kayaking. Are there any places where I could rent a kayak? If I wanted to buy one, what would be the best type to get? What is the best way to learn how to kayak?
